"Mother in Crisis"

“Mother in Crisis,” depicts a mother in crisis giving birth to her inner child amid projections evoking a fast-paced metropolis. Singing “Les Berceaux” in a rocking chair, she’s surrounded by musicians (percussion/cello/flute), and performers who represent her body’s systems. The lullaby echoes inside and outside the womb–interacting with a projected fetus puppet. When her water breaks, the body's systems dissociate in a haunting Butoh dance. Cocooned in knitted mycelium, she’s uprooted to a forest labyrinth junkyard.
